The next chapter in my life began on December 6, 2016 at 9:00pm with a red eye flight to NYC and onward to Cartagena, Colombia. When I was working I took redeye flights a lot, mainly to avoid needing to take an extra day of vacation to travel east. A lapse in judgement is the only reason I imagine taking one when time wasn’t an object. I fell asleep before the flight took off. Ended up wandering around JFK for a few hours before catching my next flight.
Upon arriving and deplaning I immediately knew I wasn’t home anymore, the heat and humidity smacked me right in the face! Somehow I survived.
The second test if you’re ready for South America is the customs line. Almost an hour in line. Developing patience is something I know I’ll need to work on this trip.
